ABOUT

Pledis Entertainment's thirteen-member self-producing group debuted in 2015 and are widely credited with popularising the model of idol groups who write, compose, and choreograph their own material at scale. Their 'Follow' world tour sold out arenas across five continents and generated over $100 million in revenue, making them one of the highest-grossing boy groups of the fourth generation.

S.Coups

Daejeon, South Korea

Choi Seung-cheol joined Pledis Entertainment as a teenager and became the leader of a group still being assembled around him. Leading thirteen people with vastly different cultural backgrounds, ages, and training levels is a management task as much as a performance one — he has spoken candidly about the toll it has taken and the growth it has required. He is the hip-hop unit's primary anchor and a consistent live performer.

Beyond K-pop

Fitness and strength training, gaming across multiple genres, and spending time with his dog, who appears frequently in his personal social media.

Jeonghan

Seoul, South Korea

Yoon Jeong-han trained at Pledis for a relatively short period before debuting — he was one of the later additions to the final lineup. His relaxed, fluid stage presence and distinctive voice made him immediately notable. He became one of K-pop's most meme-generating personalities through behind-the-scenes footage showing a dry, deadpan wit and a constant ability to catch members off-guard.

Beyond K-pop

Reading across a wide range of genres, sleeping as a genuine restorative practice he discusses openly, and following fashion and interior design.

Joshua

Los Angeles, United States

Hong Jisoo grew up in Los Angeles and discovered SEVENTEEN online before auditioning for Pledis as a teenager. He is the group's primary English speaker and acts as a cultural and linguistic bridge in American and international press. His self-produced acoustic songs released via personal SoundCloud gained significant attention outside of official SEVENTEEN releases and established him as a serious songwriter.

Beyond K-pop

Guitar and acoustic songwriting — he records and shares arrangements regularly — photography, and maintaining close ties with his Los Angeles roots.

Jun

Shenzhen, China

Wen Junhui moved from Shenzhen to Korea as a young teenager to train at Pledis. His background in Chinese opera and martial arts before K-pop training gave him an unusually developed sense of physical expression and body control. He is the performance unit's most visually theatrical member and has pursued acting in Chinese productions alongside his SEVENTEEN commitments.

Beyond K-pop

Chinese classical arts — calligraphy and wushu (Chinese martial arts forms) — photography, and maintaining close connections with his Chinese fanbase through bilingual social media.

Hoshi

Namyangju, South Korea

Kwon Soon-young is SEVENTEEN's primary choreographer — a role unheard of for a performing group member at his label tier. He creates or co-creates the choreography for most SEVENTEEN releases, an output that has made him one of the most visible creative voices in fourth-generation boy groups. His own performance energy is among the most explosive in K-pop, using the entire stage with a physical confidence that classically trained dancers rarely achieve.

Beyond K-pop

Choreography and dance theory study — he researches movement systems from hip-hop, jazz, and contemporary traditions — watching dance content across global genres, and cooking.

Wonwoo

Changwon, South Korea

Jeon Won-woo joined Pledis after a period of independent preparation and debuted as SEVENTEEN's deep-voiced hip-hop anchor. His measured, deliberate delivery contrasts with the group's more explosive performers and gives the live sound a grounded centre. He has pursued acting and modelling alongside music, and his minimal, dark aesthetic has made him one of the group's most recognisable individual visual identities.

Beyond K-pop

Reading — he is SEVENTEEN's most openly bookish member — gaming, and a particular interest in mystery and thriller fiction.

Woozi

Busan, South Korea

Lee Ji-hoon is the primary composer and lyricist behind the majority of SEVENTEEN's discography. He began writing music as a trainee and has since accumulated hundreds of writing and production credits across the group's albums. His vocal range — precise, emotionally controlled, capable of both intimate softness and full-belt power — is SEVENTEEN's sonic benchmark. He was named to Forbes Korea's 30 Under 30 for his contribution to the country's music industry.

Beyond K-pop

Music production (his most serious and constant practice), playing piano independently, and a quiet, introverted lifestyle that contrasts with SEVENTEEN's high-energy image.

Gyeonggi-do, South Korea

Lee Seok-min is recognised across the Korean music industry as one of the most technically accomplished vocalists of his generation. His warm, full-range instrument with exceptional control anchors SEVENTEEN's most demanding live moments and has drawn comparison to classical musical theatre training. Outside of group work, he has performed musical theatre productions in Seoul, reinforcing a theatrical depth that sets him apart within K-pop.

Beyond K-pop

Musical theatre — he attends productions regularly and has appeared in them — soccer, and a generous warmth that makes him the most consistently cheerful presence in group content.

Mingyu

Anyang, South Korea

Kim Min-gyu is one of K-pop's most recognisable physical presences — tall, broad-shouldered, and with a warmth in front of cameras that makes him equally effective in high-fashion shoots and candid behind-the-scenes content. He trained at Pledis from his early teens and debuted at 17. His multi-purpose role as vocalist, dancer, and visual gives SEVENTEEN a consistent front-of-stage anchor in live performances.

Beyond K-pop

Cooking — he is considered SEVENTEEN's best cook and documents meals regularly — fashion, and design.

Anshan, China

Xu Minghao trained in Chinese b-boy and contemporary dance before joining Pledis as an international trainee at 15. His b-boy background gives him a movement vocabulary that even K-pop-trained dancers rarely possess — he brings breaking elements and freestyle-adjacent improvisation into SEVENTEEN's performance unit work. He has designed merchandise and pursues fashion design independently of his music work.

Beyond K-pop

Fashion design — he has collaborated on clothing lines — b-boy and freestyle dance practice, and a deep personal interest in Chinese contemporary art.

Seungkwan

Jeju Island, South Korea

Boo Seung-kwan is from Jeju Island — a background he references frequently in lyrics and interviews — and was one of the most vocally developed trainees to join Pledis before the debut. He is the vocal unit's co-leader and the group's most active television personality, appearing on multiple variety programmes where his sharp instincts and quick humour make him one of the most watchable members. His clear, ringing tenor is among the most distinctive voices in the group.

Beyond K-pop

Variety entertainment (he pursues it as a genuine craft), watching Korean dramas, and cooking Jeju-style food for his members.

Vernon

New York City, United States (Korean-American)

Choi Han-sol was born in New York to a Korean father and an American mother, growing up bilingual and bicultural in Seoul after the family relocated. His mixed heritage and native English fluency gave SEVENTEEN's rap unit an American hip-hop authenticity that other groups struggled to replicate. He was scouted by Pledis while still in middle school and trained for several years before debuting at 17.

Beyond K-pop

Film — he is SEVENTEEN's most serious cinephile, with a particular interest in independent and world cinema — music production, and reading.

Dino

Iksan, South Korea

Lee Chan is SEVENTEEN's maknae, debuting at 16 with a specialisation in contemporary and street dance developed since early childhood. Michael Jackson is a documented major influence on his approach to performance. His movement style — characterised by sharp rhythmic precision and physical confidence — developed faster than most trainees of his age, and his performance output has grown to equal or exceed several senior members.

Beyond K-pop

Dance study across genres — he watches and analyses performances by dancers outside of K-pop — music listening across hip-hop and contemporary R&B, and fitness training.
