Kim Yun-ah was selected through HYBE's I-LAND 2 survival programme in 2024, one of the most-watched K-pop competition shows of that year. Her warm stage presence and natural expressiveness consistently placed her among viewers' favourites from the earliest episodes. She debuted as ILLIT's main vocalist at just 20 years old.

Lee Min-ju joined the I-LAND 2 cast and earned her place in ILLIT through a combination of technical vocal control and an effortlessly bright on-camera personality. She was considered one of the most complete performers in the competition and debuted with a ready-made fanbase.

Takahashi Moka relocated from Japan to Korea in her mid-teens to pursue K-pop training. Her fluid, precise dance technique — built on years of Japanese contemporary and jazz dance classes — made her a standout in I-LAND 2's performance evaluations. Jung Won-hee is ILLIT's energetic anchor — her explosive stage presence and expressive face became a signature of the group's identity during I-LAND 2. She trained intensely in dance and quickly developed into a natural performer who draws the eye in group formations.

Goto Iroha arrived at I-LAND 2 already known within Japanese entertainment circles. The youngest member of ILLIT, she was 17 at debut and brought a polished, composed quality far beyond her age. Her calligraphy background translates into unusual physical precision and control in performance.
