ABOUT

Cube Entertainment's self-producing girl group debuted in 2018 under the creative direction of leader Soyeon, who writes, composes, and produces the majority of their discography. Their 2023 single 'Queencard' became a global viral phenomenon and their I-LAND: Who Am I world tour sold out arenas across North America and Europe.

THE MEMBERS

Miyeon

Miyeon

Seoul, South Korea

Kim Mi-yeon trained at SM Entertainment before transferring to Cube, where she became (G)I-DLE's lead vocalist in 2018. Her voice — warm and full in the mid-range, capable of precise, aching high notes — is the emotional centre of the group's ballads. She pursued acting alongside music and starred in the Korean drama 'I'll Go to You When the Weather Is Nice' in 2020.

Beyond K-pop

Collecting plush toys and soft furnishings, writing in journals, cooking, and following Korean drama.

Minnie

Minnie

Bangkok, Thailand

Nicha Yontararak won a Cube Entertainment audition in Thailand at 18 and moved to Seoul to train — the first Thai recruit Cube had ever accepted for a girl group. She arrived already able to play guitar, a skill she had developed independently, and her self-taught musicality made her an early contributor to the group's compositions. She speaks Thai, Korean, and English, and maintains a close connection with Thai fans through social media.

Beyond K-pop

Guitar — she plays in acoustic sessions independently of group activities — cooking Thai food that she shares with members, and travel photography.

Soyeon

Soyeon

Seoul, South Korea

Jeon Soo-yeon is the rare K-pop idol who is also a genuine music industry creative. She writes, composes, and produces the vast majority of (G)I-DLE's discography — a level of creative ownership almost without precedent among girl group members at her label tier. Before (G)I-DLE, she competed on YG's Treasure Box and appeared on Unpretty Rapstar, establishing a reputation as one of K-pop's most technically precise rappers. The group's artistic identity — including its visual direction, concept choices, and lyrical voice — is substantially her work.

Beyond K-pop

Music production and theory study (her primary passion), fashion — she designs elements of her own stage costumes — and mentoring younger artists.

Yuqi

Yuqi

Shanghai, China

Song Yu-qi joined Cube as an international trainee at 16, moving alone from Shanghai to Seoul. She hosted a successful Chinese variety show, 'Yuqi's World', during (G)I-DLE's career — a rare instance of a K-pop idol maintaining a parallel entertainment career in another country. She is fluent in Mandarin, Korean, and English, and functions as a genuine bridge between the Chinese and Korean fandoms.

Beyond K-pop

Variety entertainment (she has significant comedic timing beyond her music work), Chinese cuisine, fashion, and exploring food culture through travel.

Shuhua

Shuhua

Kaohsiung, Taiwan

Yeh Shu-hua grew up in Kaohsiung and passed a talent audition in Taiwan at 17 before moving to Korea for training. She is (G)I-DLE's youngest member and the group's most publicly self-aware personality — her dry humour, unexpected observations in interviews, and willingness to go off-script have made her a fan favourite for reasons often disconnected from her stage work. Her Mandarin fluency connects the group's substantial Taiwanese and Chinese fanbase.

Beyond K-pop

Reading (across genres, including literary fiction), archery (a serious hobby), collecting scale models and figures, and travel.
