ABOUT

JYP Entertainment's self-producing eight-member group debuted in 2018 after forming through a survival show. Known for their heavy sound created by in-house production unit 3RACHA, they became the first JYP act to sell over a million physical albums with a single release and headlined a sold-out world tour in 2023.

THE MEMBERS

Bang Chan

Bang Chan

Seoul, South Korea (raised in Sydney, Australia)

Christopher Bang moved to Sydney as a child and grew up immersed in Australian youth culture before relocating to Seoul at 16 to train at JYP Entertainment. As Stray Kids' leader and de facto executive producer, he leads the 3RACHA production trio and holds writing or production credits on the majority of the group's discography. His weekly 'Chan's Room' livestream — in which he speaks to global fans in English, Korean, and sometimes Spanish — has run for years and become one of K-pop's most sustained direct fan connections.

Beyond K-pop

Music production — he produces constantly outside of group schedules — gym and fitness training, and a broad love of English-language film and pop culture.

Lee Know

Gimpo, South Korea

Lee Minho was a JYP dance teacher and choreographer-in-training before joining the Stray Kids formation show as a contestant. His dance background is different from the other members — he came in with professional-level training already complete — and his technical fluency shows in how he adapts to different choreographic styles across the group's broad output. He is among the most technically versatile dancers in fourth-generation boy groups.

Beyond K-pop

Cats — he has three and documents them extensively on social media — contemporary dance practice beyond group choreography, and cooking.

Changbin

Yongin, South Korea

Seo Chang-bin joined JYP as a trainee with a primary focus on rap. He is 3RACHA's most prolific lyricist and possesses one of the fastest, most technically precise rap deliveries in K-pop — a distinction that music journalists have noted consistently since debut. His physical training intensity gave him a build that contrasts markedly with his stage persona, which oscillates between menacing and self-deprecating with unusual ease.

Beyond K-pop

Weightlifting — he is seriously committed and tracks his training rigorously — rap and lyric writing as a constant creative practice, and high-energy action films.

Hyunjin

Seoul, South Korea

Hwang Hyun-jin is Stray Kids' most visible individual creative — his painting, textile work, and visual art have been exhibited in gallery spaces in Seoul and Paris. He trained at JYP from his early teens and debuted at 18. As a performer, his ability to communicate emotion through movement — particularly in slow, lyrical sections of choreography — is considered among the most distinctive in his generation.

Beyond K-pop

Painting and visual art (exhibited publicly in Seoul and Paris), fashion — he is a Versace ambassador — and poetry, which he writes privately.

Han

Incheon, South Korea (raised in Malaysia)

Han Ji-sung grew up in Malaysia and is fluent in Malay, Korean, and English. He joined JYP through a talent search and became one of 3RACHA's most emotionally raw writers — his lyrics address anxiety, self-doubt, and the psychological pressure of entertainment with a candour that has made him the member most frequently cited by fans with mental health struggles. His transparency about his own anxiety in interviews is considered significant in Korean entertainment, where such openness remains uncommon.

Beyond K-pop

Lyrics and composition (his most constant creative outlet), cooking — he is one of Stray Kids' more accomplished cooks — and outdoor walks.

Felix

Sydney, Australia (Korean-Australian)

Lee Yong-bok grew up in Sydney, Australia to Korean parents, discovering K-pop through YouTube and applying to JYP's global auditions. His extraordinarily deep speaking voice became a signature — one of the most viral sonic characteristics of any K-pop artist — and his sun-freckled appearance and high-energy, cheerful stage persona have made him a visually distinctive presence in the K-pop landscape.

Beyond K-pop

Cooking — he prepares elaborate meals for members — dancing independently across styles beyond group choreography, and maintaining strong ties with his Australian family.

Seungmin

Seoul, South Korea

Kim Seung-min trained at JYP through a conventional audition process and debuted as Stray Kids' vocalist. He is among the most vocally controlled members and performs with a precision that contrasts with the group's wilder, more aggressive sonic identity. He is a serious baseball fan who has thrown ceremonial first pitches and has spoken extensively about the sport — a grounding, ordinary hobby in a career of extraordinary public performance.

Beyond K-pop

Baseball — he follows it closely, attends games when possible, and has cultivated media relationships with players — photography, and spending time with dogs.

Busan, South Korea

Yang Jeong-in is Stray Kids' youngest member, debuting at 15. He trained at JYP after being discovered in an audition and quickly developed the performance confidence that the group's demanding live shows require. As the maknae, he brings an energy of genuine youth to a group whose music often deals with heavy emotional subject matter. His vocal development since debut has been consistent and increasingly prominent in the group's more melodic releases.

Beyond K-pop

Gaming — he is the group's most committed gamer — cooking, and a close connection to his home city of Busan that he references in conversations about identity.
