She was discovered at a YG Entertainment open audition in Australia in 2012 at the age of 15 and moved alone to Seoul — without speaking Korean — to begin training. After four years of vocal and performance training, she debuted as BLACKPINK's main vocalist in 2016. Her solo single 'On The Ground' debuted at number 70 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2021, making her the first Korean solo female artist to chart in the top 100. Her 2024 album 'rosie' and its lead single 'APT.' with Bruno Mars became her commercial breakthrough, topping charts across Asia, Europe, and North America.
