Park Ji-min graduated from Busan Arts High School's competitive contemporary dance programme before joining Big Hit Entertainment in 2012. His classical Korean contemporary dance background gives him movement qualities that differ fundamentally from hip-hop-trained K-pop performers, and professional choreographers have consistently isolated his fluid technique and emotional commitment as exceptional. His debut solo album 'FACE' (2023) — co-written throughout — addressed anxiety and the performance of identity, and its lead single 'Like Crazy' made him the first Korean solo artist to debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
